Our beginning
“I will build this church, but I will use you to restore the people.”
Those were the words God spoke to Pastor Steve as Restoration Church was beginning.
In September 1993, Pastors Steve and Dilonna Coran gathered a small group in their home here in Jersey Shore. As the church family grew, services moved to the local YMCA before God opened the door to a permanent home on Allegheny Street.
The building, once the historic Victoria Theatre, needed extensive renovation. Through countless hours of volunteer labor, generous hearts, and the help of skilled craftsmen, it was renovated into the place we now call home.
From the very beginning, our mission has remained the same: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invite people into a restored relationship with God. We believe that transformed lives build strong marriages, strong families, and a strong community.

Why Restoration?
We see restoration all around us—a historic building brought back to life, a treasured family heirloom carefully repaired, or something once forgotten made beautiful again. Restoration returns something that has been broken, neglected, or worn by time.
But God's restoration is even greater.
Jesus doesn't simply restore us to who we once were. He makes us new. He gives hope where there was despair, peace where there was anxiety, healing where there was brokenness, and freedom from sin, addiction, shame, and fear. Through Him, we are welcomed into a restored relationship with our Heavenly Father—a relationship that will never be taken away.
That has been the heartbeat of our church from the very beginning. Every worship service, LIFEgroup, conversation, and act of kindness is an opportunity to share the hope of restoration found in Jesus Christ. It's why we changed our name to Restoration Church Jersey Shore—because we believe restoration isn't just something God does; it's who He is.
No life is beyond repair. No life is beyond hope. If God has done it for us, He can do it for you.

Where we are headed...
We are excited about what God is doing as we continue to serve individuals and families throughout our community. After more than 30 years of prayer, God has opened the door for us to purchase the remaining properties on our block, creating new opportunities to expand our ministry and better serve Jersey Shore.
As we prepare these newly acquired properties for future outreach, additional parking, a green space, and ministry opportunities, we remain committed to the mission that has guided us from the beginning: helping people encounter Jesus and experience the hope of restoration.
We believe God is still writing our story, and we'd love for you to be part of it.
